Upside Down Apple Cake Recipe




INGREDIENTS:


For caramelised apples
  • 2 apples
  • 1/2 cup- butter
  • 1/2 cup-brown sugar
For the cake
  • 1 1/2 cup -all purpose flour/ maida
  • 3/4 cup -sugar
  • 1/2 cup- butter(softened)
  • 2 -eggs
  • 1/2 cup- milk
  • 1 teaspoon -vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon-baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon-cinnamon powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon -salt

INSTRUCTIONS:
  1. Sieve together all purpose flour/ maida,baking powder,cinnamon powder,salt.
  2. Cream butter and sugar until creamy.
  3. Add milk eggs,vanilla and whisk until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  4. Slowly mix in the sieved mixture in batches to avoid lumps.
  5. Grease and dust a 8" cake pan .Core the apples and cut it into 16 pieces.
  6. Add butter to a pan and once melted add the brown sugar and whisk until it bubbles .
  7. Transfer this mixture to the cake pan and spread it .
  8. Arrange the apples the way you like in the cake pan.
  9. Pour the cake batter in the cake pan and level it with a spatula.
  10. Bake for 30 -40 minutes or until the tooth pick comes out clean.
  11. Allow it to rest in the pan for 10 minutes.
  12. Flip the cake on to a cake stand or a plate before serving.
