Chewy Chocolate Brownies Recipe

  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup pecans, or walnuts, chopped, optional
  • powdered sugar, for dusting

Chewy Chocolate Brownies Recipe

  1. Place a rack in the center of the oven and preheat to 350 degrees. Spray a 9" x 13" cake pan with cooking spray or line with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. Melt butter in a medium-sized saucepan over medium-low heat then add chocolate chips, stirring constantly until melted. Remove from heat then set aside to cool slightly.
  3. Whisk together eggs, sugar, vanilla and salt in a large mixing bowl until completely combined. Sift flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt over the top of the egg mixture then stir to combine.
  4. Add the chocolate mixture to the egg mixture then stir until completely incorporated. Fold in nuts if desired.
  5. Transfer the batter into the prepared pan and bake 20–22 minutes until firm in the center. Cool on a wire rack, dust with powdered sugar, slice and serve. Enjoy!
