Brown Cake Doughnuts Recipe


  • 1 c. all purpose gluten-free flour
  • 1/4 c. dry milk powder, toasted
  • 1/2 c. date sugar
  • 1 1/2 t. baking powder
  • 1/2 t. baking soda
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 T. (1 oz.) coconut oil, melted
  • 1 c. plain yogurt
  • 1 1/2 t. vanilla extract

Cider Glaze:
  • 1/4 c. date sugar
  • 1/4 c. apple cider
  • 2 T. coconut oil, melted
  • Chocolate Ganache:
  • 1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 3/4 c. heavy cream

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease your donut pan.
  2. In a medium bowl sift flour, milk powder, date sugar, baking powder, and baking soda together.
  3. In another bowl whisk together the egg, coconut oil, yogurt, and vanilla. Stir the dry into the wet, and mix just until combined.
  4. Fill donut pan holes 2/3 of the way full and bake for 8-9 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean (mostly.)
  5. Heat together apple cider, date sugar, and coconut oil in a small saucepan until simmering. In a high-speed blender or food processor, blend until very very smooth. Pour over donuts.
  6. Heat cream to just under boiling, pour over chocolate chips. Let sit for 5 minutes, whisk until smooth. Slather over donuts.
  7. Sprinkle as desired.
